Magpies pick up a point, but I believe it's two dropped, says disappointed Paterson

MAGPIES LED TWICE IN WILTSHIRE, BUT DRINAN AND SWINDON HIT BACK

MARTIN Paterson felt it was “two points dropped” after watching his side share the spoils in a 2-2 draw at Swindon Town on Tuesday night.

The Magpies twice led at The Nigel Eady County Ground through Conor Grant's third minute strike and a goal for Alassana Jatta just after the hour mark.

Ian Holloway’s Swindon side, however, responded to both setbacks thanks to a Aaron Drinan brace.

The result, which hung in the balance for the duration of the game, takes Swindon to within a point of League Two leaders Walsall.

A point in Wiltshire moved Paterson’s side up to eighth in the League Two standings, but the boss was unable to hide his disappointment post-match at not returning to Meadow Lane with all three.

“I believe it's two (points) dropped; there’s a bit of me that's really disappointed by not winning here tonight)’ he said.
