KEEPER MAKES SWITCH TO MEADOW LANE FROM HARROGATE TO COMPETE WITH ROOS

NOTTS County have completed the signing of goalkeeper James Belshaw from Harrogate Town for an undisclosed fee.

The 35-year-old, a Nottingham native and boyhood Magpies fan, has signed an 18-month deal at Meadow Lane, fulfilling a lifelong dream of representing his hometown club.

Belshaw moves back to Nottingham to compete for the number one spot at Meadow Lane with Kelle Roos, the former Derby County and Aberdeen goalkeeper who has been first-choice since joining from Italian club Triestina in the summer.

In his appearances for Harrogate this term, Belshaw has the third most goals prevented (3.3) among starting League Two goalkeepers, based on xGOT taken away from the actual number of goals he has conceded.
