DAVID McGoldrick is not concerned about contract discussions with Notts County at this stage, but has no doubts about continuing as a player beyond this season.

Not only is the 37-year-old playing for a promotion with his boyhood club this term, but his future as a player, with his current deal at the club set to expire this summer.

McGoldrick says he has approached the latter stages of his career on a year-to-year basis, not taking for granted the time he has left on the pitch.

Injuries have made it a stop-start season for the former Republic of Ireland international, but he has not slowed down in front of goal, scoring 14 times in 27 league appearances for the Magpies.

He still has a lot to give in his mind and is proving it on the pitch for the most part, channelling the pressure of knowing his future in the game is on the line each time he reaches the latter stages of a season.
