Five of the finest farm shops
Nottingham Post
|May 26, 2025
NOTTINGHAMSHIRE boasts beautiful countryside and picturesque landscapes, and with that comes some of the best farms in the East Midlands.
So if you're looking for a day out over the summer, why not soak up the English countryside and enjoy perusing fresh produce at a local farm shop?
Across the county, you can find locally-grown fresh produce and meats at a high quality, alongside artisan products which offer something different to what you typically find in high street shops.
The shops support local farmers and allow shoppers to know exactly where their produce is being sourced.
For those looking to buy more organically or ethically, or who fancy a different type of shopping trip, we have selected some of our favourite farm shops across Nottinghamshire for you to explore.
1. WELBECK FARM SHOP
Launched back in 2006, Welbeck Farm Shop offers customers delicious locally-sourced food. Partnering with the estate's farmers, the shop provides vegetables, dairy, and livestock from the 15,000-acre Welbeck estate, along with a selection of products from their resident food producers.
This local spot won both The Farm Shop & Deli Show's 'UK Large Farm Shop of the Year 2024' and the Farm Retail Associations' 'UK Farm Butcher of the Year 2024'.
