City-centre church extension to meet demand

A PROMINENT Nottingham church's multi-million-pound extension will help it keep up with demand.

St Nic's Church on Maid Marian Way is having to turn people away from language classes as it has reached its capacity of 100 people.
But the planned extension will serve as an annexe, providing space for additional community activities and a language school.
The groundbreaking is scheduled for Wednesday and construction will continue throughout next year, with a target opening date of spring 2027.
Despite the national trend of a declining church attendance, St Nic’s Church has been full most Sundays.
