Blaze beaten as pre-season is wrapped up

NOTTINGHAM Panthers completed preseason with a 4-1 victory over Coventry Blaze at the Motorpoint Arena on Saturday night.

Nolan Volcan made his home debut while 17-year-old Nottinghamshire-born forward Alex Rushby came back into the lineup on the fourth line.
Captain Matt Alfaro remains out of action as he continues his recovery from a postseason operation, while Mitch Fossier was again rested as a precaution.
Jason Grande started between the pipes with Luca Sheldon as backup.
Grande made an early save to deny Elijiah Barriga on a Blaze two-on-one-break before Panthers took the lead with a goal of the highest quality.
