Renewed commitment to helping nature on Exmoor

A BOLD new vision for Exmoor's future has been unveiled, with an ambitious management plan pledging to restore wildlife habitats, reach net zero and boost community engagement across the national park.

The Exmoor National Park Authority adopted the new national park management plan 2025-2030 during a meeting on July 1.

The five-year strategy lays out a road map to make the park “greener, wilder and more accessible to all” while tackling the twin challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss.

Described as a “partnership plan for Exmoor’, the document has been developed in collaboration with local communities, farmers, landowners, businesses and public bodies. It aims to enhance the natural beauty and cultural heritage of Exmoor, while also improving public understanding and enjoyment of the park's special qualities.

The plan sets out seven key aims:
