India proposes UPI tech pact with Seychelles

India has proposed cooperation on UPI technology to Seychelles, according to persons aware of the matter.
The country, which lies off the coast of East Africa, has been a key political and military partner for India in the Indian Ocean since it gained independence from Britain in 1976.
The proposal for cooperation is under consideration by the government of the island country.
Queries mailed to the ministry of external affairs and the High Commission of the Seychelles in New Delhi went unanswered at press time.
