Now, the same standard could be applied to a project in, say, wind power, or can be applied to a project on a metro transport. Both of them are forms of emissions reduction," she says. And this means opportunities for Indian businesses. Kelkar points out that there will now be three distinct, but related markets in which Indian project developers can sell carbon credits-the voluntary market, an Indian market (which the Bureau of Energy Efficiency is in the process of developing), and the international market.
