Voltas hopes for summer shine, but margin clouds outlook

Demand for consumer durable products is set to rise as the income tax relief in Budget 2025 is expected to boost purchasing power.

Among the key beneficiaries is Voltas Ltd, though it is navigating the challenge of balancing market share growth with profitability.

In a seasonally weak December quarter (Q3FY25), it posted a strong 18% on-year growth in consolidated revenue to ₹3,105 crore. It also swung to a net profit of ₹130 crore from a loss a year earlier.

That was driven by robust performances in unitary cooling products (UCP) and electro-mechanical projects (EMP) segments, with the latter posting a profit for the third straight quarter, aided by strong execution in domestic and international markets.
