Delhi 21 September 2025

With revised rates effective September 22, appliance makers are confident that lower prices will boost demand, helping clear pent-up purchases

NEW DELHI: Consumers will soon see lower prices on room air conditioners (ACs) and dishwashers, as leading appliance makers pass on the benefits of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) rate cut.

Starting Monday, prices will drop by up to Rs 4,500 on ACs and up to Rs 8,000 on dishwashers, following the GST Council's decision to reduce duty on these products from 28 per cent to 18 per cent.

Companies including Voltas, Daikin, Godrej Appliances, LG Electronics, Panasonic, Haier, BSH Home Appliances, and Voltas Beko have already announced revised prices, expecting a sales surge during the upcoming festive season beginning with Navratra. Some manufacturers had even started pre-bookings at the lower prices, reporting encouraging demand.
