Today salvation has come to this house

In Jericho, after healing the blind beggar, Jesus gives time to Zacchaeus. Jesus expresses his need to be in his house to converse with him.

This chief tax collector, who is shunned by the scribes and Pharisees, happily welcomes Jesus with open heart. The Pharisees take offense at this. Jesus has offended their sensitivities. He is not supposed to debase himself by associating with big-time sinners and traitors of the land. Jesus is unfazed. His bold move has rather saved one more soul. That is how the Kingdom of God operates. Jesus knows when to disregard the norms of his time to do the will of his Father.

We, Christians, should know when to go beyond people's expectations to advance the interests of the Kingdom of God.
