They approached, embraced his feet, and did him homage

Easter grace is something we can always approach. It is also something which we can turn away from.

The amazing grace generated by Christ’s resurrection abounds. We can allow ourselves to be guided by such grace, leading us to the holiness of life. However, forces opposite to Easter grace are also present around us. These forces may pull us back to our old way of living. The grace of Easter, if we embrace it, can help us lead a holy life, an authentic life apart from falsehood. Authentic life is a life of joy. The women who see the risen Lord are full of joy as they do him homage. The guards who report to the chief priests all that had happened do not have the joy which the women have because they become instruments of lies for the sake of money.

Do we really want to embrace the grace of Easter that leads to joyful life? Do we want to live an authentic life, abhorring lies? Do we worship the risen Lord, or do we worship something else?

First Reading Acts 2:14, 22-33

On the day of Pentecost, Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice, and proclaimed: "You who are Jews, indeed all of you staying in Jerusalem.
