Shield kids from bad influence, PNP chief tells parents of minors nabbed in Sept 21 riot
Manila Bulletin
|September 29, 2025
The Philippine National Police (PNP) urged the parents and guardians of the 55 minors arrested during the violent Manila protest last week to take an active role in guiding the children against persons or groups allegedly misleading them into breaking the law.
The 55 minors were among those brought to the police station after they were collared for allegedly attacking policemen and destroying properties during the September 21 protest action near the Ayala Bridge and in Mendiola.
“Parents and guardians must take an active role in guiding our youth while local officials and community leaders should help us provide safe and productive spaces for them,” said acting PNP chief Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez, Jr.
