PBBM says Filipinos don't deserve hard times; CBCP calls for accountability

President Marcos turned emotional as he spoke about the hardships ordinary people continue to face and said they don’t deserve them.
In a teaser for the upcoming fourth episode of his podcast uploaded to his Facebook page on Saturday night, Sept. 6, it was accompanied by the caption: “NOBODY IS MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE FILIPINOS.”
In the clip, the President appeared visibly moved when asked if he was getting teary-eyed.
"Yes. Because I'm very upset," Marcos told news anchor Vicky Morales.
He said it was painful to see Filipinos struggling when they had done nothing wrong.
"No, because I see people having a hard time. And they don't deserve it," the President said.
Marcos stressed that ordinary citizens work hard and live for their families. They should not be punished by systemic problems or corruption.
"Mabuti kung masamang tao 'yan, dapat parusahan. Hindi naman, eh (If it were bad people, they should be punished)," he said.
"Walang ginawa 'yan kung hindi magtrabaho, kung hindi mahalin ang pamilya (But no, all they do is work and love their families)," he added.
The President then questioned why innocent Filipinos have to suffer while others benefit unjustly.
"Ba't mo paparusahan? Para magpayaman ka (Why punish them? Just so you can enrich yourself)?" he asked.
