MPD issues road closures, traffic rerouting ahead of Traslacion 2026

The Manila Police District (MPD) has issued a traffic rerouting scheme for motorists in preparation for the highly anticipated Traslacion 2026 on Friday, Jan. 9, a traditional pro-

cession celebrated during the Feast of Jesus Nazareno in Manila expected to be attended by millions of devotees.

Road closures

In its advisory, 16 roads will be closed starting at 9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 8:

  • Bonifacio Drive, northbound and southbound

  • Katigbak Drive and South Drive (One Lane Accessible to Manila Hotel and H20 Hotel)

  • Independence Road

  • P. Burgos Street, eastbound and westbound

    Finance Road, eastbound and westbound Ma. Orosa Street, northbound and southbound Taft Avenue, northbound and southbound Romualdez Street Ayala Blvd, northbound and southbound

  • C. Palanca Street, northbound and southbound P Casal Street, northbound and southbound Legarda Street, northbound and southbound

  • Quezon Blvd, northbound and southbound

  • Lerma westbound McArthur Bridge, northbound and southbound

  • Jones Bridge, northbound and southbound

Rerouting southbound A rerouting scheme will also be implemented on the same date to prevent the disruption of traffic flow during the procession: All vehicles traveling southbound on Mel Lopez Blvd.

(R-10) going to Roxas Blvd shall turn left to Capulong St., straight to Yuseco St. to Lacson Ave. to point of destination. (old truck route) All vehicles travelling southbound on A Mendoza St. going to Quezon Blvd., shall turn right to Fugoso St., to Rizal Ave., to point of destination.
