Marcos secures green energy, space tech deals in Japan visit

President Marcos returned from his working visit to Osaka, Japan, with renewed economic and scientific partnerships designed to create jobs, promote environmental sustainability, and strengthen disaster resilience in the Philippines.

"We return inspired to continue building a 'Bagong Pilipinas' that delivers more jobs, more investments, and more opportunities for every Filipino," Marcos said in a statement released on Sunday, June 22, following his return. He arrived in Manila at 5:55 p.m.

"We secured new opportunities that will create jobs, bring in investments, and help improve the lives of Filipinos," he added.

Among the new business commitments, the President highlighted a joint venture between Japan's Kanadevia Corp. and Philippine Ecology Systems Corp. for a waste-to-energy project. The initiative, he said, aims to "help manage waste while generating clean energy" —a step forward in both solid waste management and renewable power generation.
