Delayed allowances for Manila public school teachers to be released starting Oct. 7

Public school teachers and non-teaching personnel in Manila will begin receiving their long-delayed allowances starting Tuesday, October 7, following the city government’s successful recovery of P160 million in unpaid dues from national government contractors.

Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso announced this on Monday, October 6, during the weekly flag-raising ceremony at the Manila City Hall.

He said the additional funds, collected through intensified efforts to recover unpaid taxes and obligations from companies operating national government projects in the city, will be used to settle arrears owed to educators since April.
