JENNA CAMPBELL TAKES A LOOK AT SOME OF THE MUCH-ANTICIPATED EATERIES AND BARS OPENING NOW AND IN THE COMING WEEKS
-
SPRING has almost sprung and at this time of year, not only do you see the daffodils coming into bloom, but a host of new restaurants, bars and cafes start to crop up too.
It’s been another difficult start to the year for Manchester's hospitality operators with a number of closures, but showing their resilience and determination to keep going, this month will see some big-ticket openings, many of which have been in the works for a number of years.
Last month we welcomed the likes of Meatworks, a steak and burger joint on Oxford Road, the brand new food hall at the Trafford Centre, and a number of Irish bars - there’s more to come on that front too.
Over the next four weeks will be in cake heaven with the launch of Get Baked in the Northern Quarter and a Polish bakery, Sticky Fingers in Stockport, while local foodie legend Mary-Ellen McTague opens her seasonal restaurant, Pip, at the hotly anticipated Treehouse Hotel at the top of Deansgate.
Sticky Fingers bakery, Stockport Sticky Fingers, a Polish bakery that set up shop inside Stockport's Market Hall a few years back has confirmed it will be opening a new store on the Underbanks. The bakery will open on Great Underbank opposite The White Lion Pub.
The bakery and cake shop was opened on Stockport Market Place in Spring 2022 by husband-and-wife duo, Adrian and Klaudyna, who are originally from Poland.
Loved for their massive bakes and cakes, customers can freshly baked goods like apple pie, cream cakes, tiramisu, eclairs, meringue, babka, and croissants at their brand new Underbanks spot.
THE UNDERBANKS, STOCKPORT
Pip restaurant at Treehouse Hotel Treehouse Hotel, which already has sites in London and Miami, will be opening its new boutique destination on the site of the former Renaissance hotel at the end of Deansgate this month.
