DOES anyone else like stroking the wonderfully soft and green mosses that grow on garden walls?

I know it sounds weird, but there is something earthy about touching mosses and you can almost feel yourself transported back in time, like tree-hugging but less obvious.

After all, these bryophytes have been on earth for more than 450 million years according to scientists. Just for comparison, humans have been around for six million years. It means these plants have lived through many ice ages and warm periods.
