CHIDO Obi was rested for Manchester United Under-21s' game against Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday.
Manchester United's Chido Obi
Travis Binnion named Obi on the bench for the opening Premier League International Cup game. The U21s have a busy schedule this month and the decision was made to give Obi a rest.
Obi played the full 90 minutes in a league victory against Liverpool last Sunday. The U21s were still able to claim a 2-1 win against Bilbao to get their PL International Cup campaign off to a flying start at Old Trafford.
Bilbao were leading 1-0 and were comfortable until Binnion made four changes on the hour mark.
Shea Lacey, Amir Ibragimov, Finley McAllister and Gabriele Biancheri were introduced for Jayce Fitzgerald, Jim Thwaites, Victor Musa and Reece Munro, and the changes had the desired effect.
Biancheri provided an assist for James Scanion and scored a late match-winner in added time.
