IT'S the new must-watch thriller from Netflix. Missing You, with an all-star cast, was filmed on location across Manchester and the north west last year.

It's location, location in new Netfix thriller

It reunites the same creative team behind last year's huge Netflix hit Fool Me Once.

The five-part-drama follows the character of Kat Donovan (Rosalind Eleazar), a police detective, who is searching for answers after the murder of her police chief dad (Sir Lenny Henry) 11 years before.

Like other recent adaptations of hit Harlan Coben novels, the action is transported from the US to the UK for the drama. The novel is set in New York city, but for the Netflix series Manchester provides the setting for a fictional metropolis.

From the opening moments, viewers will be able to spot familiar locations across the city centre, as well as in other towns and across the north west.

Manchester city centre

Manchester city centre looms large in the drama, with sweeping scenes of the city skyline seen throughout the show from the opening moments. As a city dweller, Kat is regularly seen out and about on the Metrolink trams through the city too.

She lives in a loft in Castlefield (more on that below), and there are plenty of dramatic chase scenes around the streets of her apartment, including on Hewitt Street, Bugle Street and Little Peter Street.

The action opens with revellers enjoying the outdoor bars along Edge Street in Manchester's Northern Quarter, as Kat heads to enjoy a first date with Darryl (played by Busted star Matt Willis).

Dramatic scenes were also filmed on Hardman Street and around Spinningfields, while viewers will spot chase scenes down back alleys around Deansgate Locks and the Northern Quarter, while trendy city centre bars and clubs featured include MNKY HSE on Lloyd Street.
