Garnacho's £40m Chelsea switch is pure profit for Reds

ALEJANDRO Garnacho completed his move from Manchester United to Chelsea and was at Stamford Bridge to watch his new club beat Fulham in Saturday's early Premier League game after wrapping up his £40million switch.

Garnacho's move to Chelsea has been expected for most of the summer and the Blues have been long-term admirers of the 21-year-old.

He joins on a seven-year-contract and the deal includes a 10 per cent sell on for United.

After securing the switch Garnacho said: "It's an incredible moment for my family and I to join this great club.

"I can't wait to get started. I watched the Club World Cup and to join the world champions is special - we're the best team in the world! It's amazing to be here and I'm very happy."

The Argentina international moved to Old Trafford in 2020 as a 16-year-old and he helped the Reds win the FA Youth Cup in 2022.
