Weight loss leader is a shining example

A WEIGHT-LOSS leader has been held up as a shining example after winning a silver award for her work to help people shed the pounds.

Julie Bowden, 47, from Macclesfield, runs the Slimming World groups at the Calvary Church, Macclesfield, on Mondays and Fridays.

And she has been given the organisation's silver status, which is awarded to consultants who have 100 or more regular members at their groups.

It is the second time Julie, who lives in the town centre, has been awarded the prize since becoming a consultant in November 2019.

Prior to taking on the role, she had been a member of a Slimming World group herself, losing three stones.
