Captains converge at Knutsford intro

Knutsford Golf Club put on a great show for the Association of Manchester Golf Captains Introduction Day.

The Association has over 600 members from 100 clubs, including all of our local clubs.

The Intro day sees new golf club Captains from around the Greater Manchester area, 25 miles from Manchester Town Hall meeting up with former Captains and officials on a sociable day which included a 9-hole Team Stableford, an excellent lunch and information given about the association from their top officials about the events available for them to attend in the coming season.

Knutsford Golf Club has hosted the event for many years and were delighted to do it again after 2024 event was cancelled due to poor weather.

This time the weather was fine which enabled two teams to have the marvellous result of 45 points over 9 holes. The team of Steve Mc Dermott, Jeremy Howorth, Steve Foster and Tony Melia lost out on a card playoff.

The winning team was the fab four of Dave Sanders, Andrew Murray, Colin Farrow and David Ibbotson, all Reddish Vale apart from Andrew (Styal), who won an Association Shirt.
