Teenager's aim after horror neck fracture

A TEENAGE rugby player has been warned he might never return to the sport after snapping his neck ‘clean through’ during a game.

On February 9, Cian McNamara, 15, was playing rugby when a weight of the pile-on in a ruck ‘snapped’ his neck – causing his left side to go completely numb.

Paramedics took him to Macclesfield District General Hospital before he was moved to Salford Royal for advanced care. Now recovering at home with a halo brace attached to his skull to immobilise his neck, Cian faces the possibility of having to give up the game he loves.
