Housing price gap in region

But even within the North it’s clear that some big cities are seeing property values grow faster than others. Figures compiled by data journalist David DubasFisher for The Northern Agenda tell a fascinating story of how some of our cities have changed in the last quarter century.

Leeds perhaps not surprisingly as its boundaries include places such as the affluent market town of Wetherby) has higher house prices than any other big Northern city, with its average sitting at 245,000 in October 2022.

Manchester, meanwhile, whose house prices were the lowest of our six measured cities in 1995, has now risen to second highest, and Bradford has gone in the opposite direction in our league table.
