Amy's passion to get disadvantaged people into high-paid jobs

GROWING up on a Manchester council estate, Amy Newton remembers doing jobs like collecting glasses at the pub and working in a pork scratchings factory.

Her life changed in her early 20s when she "blagged" her way into her first tech recruitment job, kickstarting a career that's seen her set up the consultancy firm Inclusively Tech and the MCR DevCon conference.

She's now the driving force behind the Manchester Tech Festival, set up to highlight the 10,000 businesses in Greater Manchester's booming tech and digital industry.
