PARENTS AND FUND-RAISERS IN SADDLE FOR EPIC CHARITY RIDE

MONTHS of training will be put into practice on Friday when a group of cyclists set off for a 300-mile bike ride from London to Paris.

The epic ride, covering 100 miles a day, will set off from Greenwich to the Eiffel Tower in support of Alex’s Wish, a Mountsorrel charity dedicated to funding research and treatments for Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Charity founders Emma and Andy Hallam, of Leicester, are taking part in a ride that is deeply personal and powerfully symbolic to them.

They have spent the past 13 years tirelessly championing the fight against Duchenne, ever since their son Alex, now 18, was diagnosed.
