Tony winner Alex Timbers sees four of his productions run simultaneously.

ALEX TIMBERS, center, sits with performers from four of his shows. From left: Robert Petkoff and Bahiyah Hibah of "Moulin Rouge!"; Khori Michelle Petinaud, Julia Grondin and Larkin Reilly of "Just in Time"; Justin Collette and Isabella Esler of "Beetlejuice"; and Gracie Lawrence and Clyde Lawrence of "All Out."
Fifteen years ago, rising theater director Alex Timbers achieved a remarkable feat: Still only in his early 30s, he had two shows running simultaneously on Broadway.
As 2026 dawned, Timbers eclipsed that mark — with four.
Timbers’ latest, “All Out: Comedy About Ambition,” joined his hits “Beetlejuice,” “Just in Time” and “Moulin Rouge! The Musical,” the 2020 best musical winner that also earned him a Tony Award for directing. (Timbers’ quadruple ended Saturday when “Beetlejuice” ended its run.)
“If I step back and think about what unites the shows, it's probably they’re all trying to be joy-forward experiences and shows where the audience is acknowledged,” says Timbers, now 47.
