China sees over 2.4 bln passenger trips during National Day holiday

China saw 2.433 billion passenger trips during the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday from Oct 1 to 8, representing a daily average of 304 million trips, up 6.3 percent year on year, according to data released by the Ministry of Transport on Thursday.

Among the passenger trips, 153.96 million were handled by railways, with a daily average of 19.24 million, up 2.6 percent year on year.
Road traffic recorded 2.248 billion passenger trips, averaging more than 280 million per day, a 6.6 percent increase compared to last year.
