Helping out overseas is much more than 'vanity'
Llanelli Star
|June 24, 2026
READING recently the Book of Taliesin, as you do, I came across the proverb from the famous 6th-century Brittonic poet: “As the king, so the kingdom”.
More modern versions read: “A fish rots from the head down", or “When you vote for a clown, don't be surprised when the circus comes to town”.
When Rhun ap Iorwerth has to deal with an opposition which knows only one song from the political songbook and a tune which sounds as if it's been written on a frayed washing line you know international relations are as welcome as a diplomat in the White House.
