THE mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham has announced his desire to return to Westminster as a Labour MP.
The mayor, who is widely viewed as a potential rival to Prime Minister Keir Starmer for the party's leadership, confirmed his intention to stand in the Gorton and Denton by-election as he vowed to fight “a brand of politics which seeks to pit people against each other”.
