MUM'S GRATITUDE TO GENEROUS DONORS WHO RAISED MONEY TO PAY FOR FUNERAL

THE mum of a "lovely, polite" young man who died suddenly aged 23 says she "can't express" how grateful she is following an outpouring of support.

Ethan Dowden, from Allerton, was found unresponsive in bed at his nan's home last Saturday, October 4.

His mum, Helen, 47, was left "inconsolable" as she was unable to afford to pay for her son's funeral and a grave stone to mark his final resting place.

Her friend Suzanne Fox set up a fundraiser in the hope of raising £800, and shared her heartfelt appeal with the ECHO.

Generous donations poured in from more than 100 people some of them anonymous.

As a result, Ethan's funeral fund has than doubled its original £800 goal, receiving more than £2,400.
