Tarkowski aiming for start of season return

JAMES Tarkowski has provided an update on his fitness as well as claiming Everton supporters should be excited by the changes that are going to happen over the summer.

Tarkowski hobbled off injured at the start of the second-half as his side were beaten 2-0 by Manchester City at Goodison Park towards the end of last month.

It was then confirmed that the centre-back would not play again this season due to the hamstring injury he picked up against Pep Guardiola's side.

And providing an update on his fitness, Tarkowski revealed he is hoping to be back by the start of next season.

"I've unfortunately picked up a hamstring injury," he said. "I had surgery on Tuesday and now in the recovery process. I'll be out of the boot in a few weeks and ready to get going again.
