STREET ATTACKS ON POLICE REACH THREE-YEAR HIGH ON MERSEYSIDE
PHYSICAL assaults on Merseyside Police staff reached a three-year high last year with officers punched and kicked during incidents in the streets.
New data obtained through freedom of information (FOI) requests has revealed a total of 1,730 officers were injured during 2024 a huge increase on the previous year, where the force recorded 1,280 injuries.
