McGrail eyes win to move him closer to title shot

PETER McGRAIL believes a victory over Shabaz Masoud will take him to within touching distance of a world title shot.

McGrail will take on Shabaz Masoud for the IBO world and vacant EBU European super-bantamweight titles in Monaco next month.

The pair were due to meet earlier this year, but the fight was postponed after Masoud picked up an injury in training.

McGrail, who is the WBA International super-bantamweight title holder, made his long-awaited return to the ring against Ionut Baluta in June.

The Everton Red Triangle fighter won via majority decision, although he was left outraged after judge Bob Williams scored the bout a draw.
