Lewis gives bad news
Liverpool Echo
|May 31, 2025
MIKEY Lewis led from the front as Hull KR limbered up for next week's Betfred Challenge Cup final at Wembley with a scintillating six-try Super League demolition of St Helens at a sold-out Craven Park.
-
The reigning Super League Man of Steel scored two tries including a brilliant solo burst from the halfway line as Willie Peters’ men wrapped up a thoroughly dominant 34-4 success.
It was a jolting wake-up call for Saints head coach Paul Wellens, whose side had reacted well to their Magic Week-end defeat to Leeds and arrived in east Hull on the back of big wins over Catalans and Huddersfield.
Saints had only Lewis Martin’s first-half effort to show for an error-strewn display which will inevitably once again raise questions over Wellens’ future in the role.
