POLICE have recovered at least three bullet rounds as they probe a street shooting which shattered the window of a family house.

Merseyside Police remain in Toxteth after officers erected an extensive cordon across a number of roads following the early hours' shooting on Sunday.

Merseyside Police was called to Kingsley Road in Toxteth following reports that a bullet had been fired through a window.

Images taken by the ECHO at the scene showed a shattered downstairs window of what is believed to be a family home.

Police initially believed the shooting was a targeted attack at the house, but reports from L8 appear to suggest the gun was fired in the street and a chase of some sorts might have taken place.

Merseyside Police matrix officers, carrying out a fingertip search on Seaport Street, appeared to find fragments of evidence on the ground. Officers crowded around three fragments and called in scientific support officers who put down evidence markers and photographed the scene.
