A LIVERPOOL dad found himself trapped in Qatar as missiles rained down on a US military base near the country's capital.

Imam Adam Kelwick, from Tox-teth, heard children crying and women screaming as a series of explosions echoed in the distance.

Adam, who is the leader of the historic Abdullah Quilliam Mosque off West Derby Road, touched down in Doha, the capital of Qatar, on Mon-day to visit friends - just a few hours before the Iranian attack hit.
