Tigers storm back in second half to pull off a remarkable victory

LEICESTER Tigers staged a brilliant second half fightback to beat Harlequins after trailing 19-0 with less than half an hour left.

The Geoff Parling reign at Mattioli Woods Welford Road got off to the most chaotic - yet satisfying - of starts.

A win that felt impossible at one stage seemed to warm the hearts of Tigers fans (especially those buffeted and soaked by Storm Amy) that little bit more than a comfortable victory.

Those 'easy' wins will surely have to come if Leicester are to have a successful season, but for now Parling will be delighted that his side has heart.

Tigers found themselves 19-0 just after the break following three penalties from Jarrod Evans and a stormer of a try by Will Porter from Alex Dombrandt’s delicious offload.

At that stage, they were heading for an embarrassing defeat in their first home Premiership game.
