GET SKATES ON FOR HOST OF FESTIVE FUN AT CITY VENUES

- By JASMINE SIDDON

WITH 24 days to go until Christmas Day, we have rounded up the festive activities taking place across the city that people can get involved in.

Ice Skate Leicester has returned to Jubilee Square and will be open from 10am until 10pm, Monday to Thursday, and on Sundays.

The ice rink will remain open until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Street curling will also be held at the rink this year, which will offer self-service skates. Tickets for both activities can be bought online with dates running until Sunday, January 4.

Various performances are to take place at Leicester's theatres this festive season, as Curve will host an award-winning production of The Sound of Music.

There will be pantomime fun at De Montfort Hall and The Little Theatre, which are to both show Dick Whittington. Oh yes, they will!

People will also be able to enjoy Christmas Music by Candlelight with classical concerts held at Leicester Cathedral, and Gerald Dickens is to perform A Christmas Carol by the fireside at just one of the events at the city’s Guildhall.
