Foxes Junior Pathway Tour celebrates a successful year

THERE was a huge turnout of Leicestershire and Rutland young golfers and their families for the end-of-season celebration of the 2025 Foxes Junior Pathway Tour and the launch of the tour for 2026, writes Jennifer Prentice.

The overall winners of the six individual tour events played this year were recognised and congratulated on their success at the event, held at Kibworth GC.

Organised jointly by the county golf union and the county ladies' golf association, the tour has proved tremendously popular since it was launched four years ago, with entries increasing and full capacity fields.

Each event this year attracted from 90 to 100 entrants, who competed in five levels of competition, depending on their age and skill.

Hugo Taylor (Longcliffe) was the overall winner of the first event, while Arif Tayebjee, of The Leicestershire, won the next two in succession. Reece Holder (Cosby) won the fourth, Hussein Kayyum (The Leicestershire) the fifth and Matilda Mankert (Lutterworth) the sixth and final tournament.

Host clubs in 2025 were Kibworth, Kilworth Springs, Melton Mowbray, Kirby Muxloe, Cosby and Birstall.
