PATSON Daka may be nearing a year without a Leicester City goal but he is perhaps their most effective striker, writes

Not since firing in the game-sealing third in the 3-1 win over West Ham last December has Daka been able to celebrate a competitive goal.

In that time, he's played 38 games for City. If he is unable to net in the next three, against Stoke, Southampton or Sheffield United, then he will have passed a year since he was last on the scoresheet.

It’s a desperately poor run for a striker, and delving deeper into the numbers does little to provide much positivity.

It could be argued that many of Daka’s 38 appearances have been as a substitute, but he’s still played 1,684 minutes across those matches, the equivalent of more than 18 full 90-minute games.
