ECCLESHALL had a great time on the road as they returned from Knypersley with the spoils.

- By Chris Travers

Eccleshall shone early in the piece by amassing 234-6 declared at Tunstall Road. Andrew Calvert orchestrated their progress to that impressive total with 90, which included 12 fours and one six.

And his lead was followed by Ben Rogerson (31), Dan Byatt (29) and Jack Knapper (27no).

Liam Hopkins and Daniyal Hussain Rajput took a couple of wickets apiece for Knype.

Jack Muni made 27 early on in Knypersley's reply, but all eyes soon turned to Ahmed Abbasi to see whether he could mastermind a fine chase.

He compiled 96, hitting 13 fours and three sixes, although his efforts were not quite enough.

Knypersley were dismissed for 196 as Rhys Owens helped himself to 3-51 and there were double strikes from Matthew Wright, Zak Mosam and Ejaz Nawaz.

Norton in Hales secured just their second NSSCL Premier B win of the season with an impressive success at leaders Wood Lane.

James Pringle's men put themselves in a handy position on their trip to Megacre by piling up 263 all out in the first half of Saturday's match.

Half-centuries from Jack Furnival, Ronan Farnell and Isaac Foster guided them to their big total.

Furnival top-scored with 60, which included 10 fours and one six, with Farnell striking eight fours and one maximum in his 57.

Foster was also in fine form as he found the boundary on eight occasions in his 52.

Rameez Alam chipped in with 38, while Martin Dawson (3-39) and Zaighum Abbas (3-58) claimed three wickets apiece for the hosts.

There was also a double strike from spinner Richard Hassall.
