Couple open craft beer shop after pursuing crazy'idea - with tap room planned next

- By Thomas Cooper

Brewery shows lot of bottle!

AN independent craft beer bottle shop has opened. Wilson’s of Warslow Bottle Shop, inside Leek Butter Market, welcomed its first customers from midday on Friday, April 17.

Founded in 2022 by Lee and Jenni Wilson-Hart, Wilson’s of Warslow began as a means to supplement their pub, The Greyhound Inn. The couple have continued selling Lee's homebrewed creations within the pub for the past several years - and have now branched out further afield.

Lee, of Warslow, told StokeonTrentLive: “During Covid, we started selling other people's beer to help keep us going through lockdown. Some of the local breweries started saying to me that I was too interested in beer not to give it a go myself. At that point, I told my dad we needed to set up a brewery to help us combat any loss in trade.

“My dad worked with me for two years before he retired. He really helped me to get it off the ground and allowed me to get comfortable with everything. The beer was a massive success in our pub - so much so that we had to get a bigger brewing kit.
