Self-storage containers and traders yards planned for site

A former motor garage site on a swathe of derelict land in Preston is set for a new use.

Cuboid Self Storage has taken on the land near to the Blackpool Road Tesco superstore and is planning to put on it dozens of shipping containers and six small works yards.

The £1m deal - backed by the FI Real Estate group which has been investing heavily in the Botany Bay retail and business park at Chorley - will see temporary permission applied for.

Operations manager Chris Hickman said the firm felt the location, previously earmarked for housing, was 'perfect' for serving the community.
