Second half of new estate blocked after six year wait
Lancashire Evening Post

The planned second phase of a housing estate built in rural Preston has been blocked by councillors - for a third time.
Preston City Council's planning committee refused permission for the creation of up to 75 homes on land off Whittingham Lane, in Broughton.
The properties had been earmarked for land south of the completed first tranche of the Broughton Park development, where 98 dwellings now stand.
That scheme was given the green light in September 2018, in spite of the site being in an area of open countryside - one of the main reasons that phase 2 has now been refused.
