Scrooge was more generous than some modern employers

And for those who do not celebrate, or simply dislike this period, hold on tight for just a couple more days and it will all be over.You can tell it's Christmas, as trains are late, delayed, or cancelled, as mine was coming home from visiting a dear friend in Birmingham this week.

Not only was it delayed, but it was also then moved to platform 9¾ (anyone who has been to New St Station lately will know what I mean). And then, just as things were going well, at Crewe we were told the train was now cancelled and we were all thrown off.
