Plans for huge skate park revamp given green light
Lancashire Evening Post
|September 20, 2025
Plans for Garstang’s new-look skate park have been approved — paving the way for a boost for young people in the town.
-
Wyre Council is planning to invest almost £137,000 in the 20-year-old facility, sandwiched between the town’s leisure centre and Booths car park.
Work is likely to begin on the revamp soon.
Young people who enjoy roller skating or wheeled activities and ball games will be able to enjoy new facilities as well as a new youth shelter from late October.
The past few years have seen many of the structures used by young skate boarders and wheelie gear users removed due to them deteriorating.
